OBJECTIVE
The purpose of this course is to study the 27 cannonized books of the New Testament. We will learn about each New Testament writer and better understand the culture and context of that era. Next, we will study the birth of the Church, from the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit was given, and we will better understand the plight of the first congregations, pastors and evangelists. The New Testament is penned by nine different writers, ranging from the disciples of Christ, to Paul, a well educated pharisee and Roman citizen, to Luke the physician. The New Testament writings are largely composed of a combination of eyewitness accounts, interviewed accounts, and prophetic inspiration. The New Testament ends with the apocalyptic insights from John who was translated into heaven in order to bring us a heavenly message about the end times and our new home, heaven. When you complete New Testament survey, you will have a better grasp on the continued works of Christ through the church as well as the glorious rewards with await the faithful.
